Our Approach

Shared Agenda

The Coalition is building an inclusive table, establishing deep relationships, and producing a repository of research evidence to assess New Jersey policies, identify areas of greatest need, and develop effective family-centered policy solutions, guided by the needs and perspectives of parents, caregivers, and child care educators.

Collaborative Learning

Virtual learning roundtables bring research evidence, lived expertise, subject matter experts, and policy innovations to the table, and build partnerships with key stakeholders and policymakers.

Community Voice

Valuing the expertise of lived experience, the Coalition will meaningfully include and listen to relevant community members, such as New Jersey parents and early childhood educators, and maintain communication, providing feedback and progress updates to communities.

Respect for Research and Data

The Coalition’s goals, priorities, and strategies will be informed by relevant data, research evidence, and best practices.

Focus on Family Well-being and Stability

Coalition initiatives will be grounded in the goal of improving circumstances, stability, well-being, and economic conditions for New Jersey’s families with infants and toddlers, with particular focus on families with limited resources and two-generation policies that support children and their caregivers.
